What is the difference between Physiotherapy and Chiropractic?
Physiotherapy embraces a holistic approach to treatment that allows specific treatment guided by results from clinical testing. Following treatment and reassessment to measure for improvements, a self management program is developed so as to maximise independence in recovery and rehabilitation. This treatment design decreases financial outlay through excess consultation fees as well as minimising time required for multiple treatments.
Do I need a referral to come and see a physiotherapist?
No you don’t. Physiotherapists are primary contact practitioners meaning that we can diagnose most musculoskeletal conditions on the spot. We can also refer you for Xrays, Ultrasounds, MRIs etc when these further tests are deemed appropriate. Referrals are required however if you are wishing to have your Physiotherapy treatment covered by Medicare (through the Enhanced Primary Care Plan), WorkCover or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Request an appointment.
Am I covered by private health insurance?
Private Health Insurance cover varies from individual to individual, and unfortunately we cannot assess it without knowing the details of your cover. We would recommend that you contact your Health Insurance Provider to discuss with them your options. Many insurance policies offer a variety of incentives for individuals to use Physiotherapy as a way of maximising well being and develop fit and healthy lifestyles, so it's well worth following up! Make sure you bring your Private Health Insurance members card when you visit us: we provide on-the-spot rebates, meaning you pay less on the day!
Are products and incedental purchases covered by private health insurance?
Private Health Insurance cover varies from individual to individual, and unfortunately we cannot assess it without knowing the details of your cover. In some cases though, it may be possible that your insurance will cover a portion or all of the purchases you may make as a direct result of your consultation.
What products might I need to buy, and do you sell them?
We provide a full range of popular products at competitive prices, and can advise you on how to procure any items that we do not directly provide. The products that are prescribed vary from condition to condition and can be advised during a consultation.
What can a Physiotherapist refer me for?
If deemed appropriate, we can refer you for a variety of tests and further services including Xrays, Ultrasounds, and MRI's.
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself! Of course, if you have any supporting material, including scans, x-rays, or even information that may help describe your injury or condition, don't hesitate to bring it with you so our staff have as much information as possible to hand.
